Bar & Bat Mitzvah at the IJC is a journey <\/span><\/h3>\n

the transition from child to teenager is an important milestone in a child’s life. Prepare your child for the mosct important day of young adulthood. Give your child the tools he or she needs to properly navigate life as a responsible Jewish adult. IJC and Synagogue membership is not required.<\/p>\n

Myth<\/strong>: A Bar\/Bat Mitzvah is an event.
\nFact<\/strong>: A Bar\/Bat Mitzvah is a person.
\nMyth<\/strong>: You go through a specific ceremony and \u0432\u0402\u045abecome Bar\/Bat Mitzvah\u0432\u0402\u2122ed\u0432\u0402\u045c.
\nFact<\/strong>: Becoming Bar\/Bat Mitzvah marks that you have reached a certain emotional maturity. It develops at age of 12 for a girl and at 13 for a boy. It happens with or without a party, a rabbi or a ceremony. (An adult may celebrate his\/her commitment to Torah at any age in life, and that has become loosely termed as an \u0432\u0402\u045aadult Bar Mitzvah\u0432\u0402\u045c.)<\/p>\n
